Great King Eider Hunting on the Bering Sea

More King Eider Hunting in Alaska:

The hunting has just been getting better for us in Alaska's last week of the duck season.  We ended up having our most successful day of the season during this week and again all of our hunters are going home with 3 or 4 King Eiders each.  Our hunters also had some excellent hunts for Harlequin and Long - tailed Ducks, with a few scoters and even a couple Pacific Common Eiders being added to the bag. 



We also had one lucky hunter shoot an extremely rare banded King Eider drake.  We reported the band online and found out that it had been banded 16 years earlier as an adult bird on St. Paul Island.  Here is a link to a story written about this unique trophy:
